A grey she-cat slid out of the bushes, treading on light paws as the moonlight washed across the forest. Even she she prowled forward, all her senses were alert for danger, ears pricked, eyes sharp.
She sat by a small tree-stump, grooming herself as she waited for someone to come, sleek pelt shining in the moonlight. The sounds of the forest blended together, as she heard the sound of approaching pawsteps. Someone was coming.
Yet, the silver cat sat calmly, not missing a stroke. This cat was Moonstar, leader of Thunder Clan.

DawnBreaker was running towards the forest. Her black coat shone in the moonlight. The trees made patterns against her, shadows racing in. She was rather scared, it was dark and she was alone. Or so she thought...

Moonstar froze, crouching down, ears flattened. She scanned the area, eyes sweeping across the land. There! A dark shape, streaking through the trees. The cat's bitter fear scent struck her, as Moonstar's bristling fur relaxed. She sat up, calling a greeting to the strange cat.

Moonstar dipped her head. "I am Moonstar, leader of Thunder Clan. And you are?" She rose, and walked towards the black cat, tail waving lazily in the air.

"I am DawnBreaker and I..." she couldn't get the words out. She tried again. "I...I don't know where...I mean, I've just come from another land."

Moonstar purred in amusement. "Calm down, I'm not going to eat you!" The silver cat padded forwards silently, until she was standing beside the cat. Stretching forwards, she sniffed at her fur. "You come from BloodClan?"

"I think so. I'm not really sure" she replied. She lifted a paw to her face and licked it. Putting it down, she asked "Would you like to hear my story?"

"Sure," Moonstar said, lying down and tucking her front paws under her chest as she waited expectantly.

DawnBreaker gave Moonstar a smile and said "This isn't exactly happy. I was born in the wild. I was only about a week old when my parents perished in a fire. I was the only one to see them die. I was tight in my bed, with my mother's friend. She saved me and went back for my parents. By then it was too late" She sighed, then began again. "I was brought up by my parents' good friends. I had a great time with them. Until one day, I yelled at their kitten and was forced to find a new place to call home. I was six months then. So I am one year old now, so it took me six months to find...this wonderful place. It is one I can call home"

At the end of Dawnbreaker's story, Moonstar's eyes were round in sympathy. "I'm so sorry," She murmured gently, flicking her tail. "It must have been hard for you."

"Yeah...but it's easier now" DawnBreaker admitted. "I can learn to be tough. I have more years of my life" With that she began to walk down the forest path. "Bye, Moonstar!" she called out.

"Goodbye! May your ancestors guide your path and may good luck follow you," Moonstar called, before slipping away.
